Tito

I received a deposit for Tito today.  Looks like he is going to live the life of a sheik in Tennessee.   He will be cuddled and loved and have a harem of ladies!!  I am sure he will be very pleased about that.

New digs

Today was a busy day.  First we went to see some puppy friends for socialization.  I took Tito and Hope with me and it was fun.  Hope was shy at first but warmed up quickly.  It was fun having four pups her size to play with instead of the grown ups she usually gets.  Tito  didn't warm up so quickly.  He preferred to watch from my lap.

Then we had Window World come and put in two windows in our back room.  It gets very hot back there.  So the dogs were in crates in the living room.  They weren't very pleased with me.  When the window guys left I cleaned the back room and moved the dogs back into their pen.  I also moved Chica and Hope in with everyone else.

Training Again!!

I am doing a lot of training nowadays and it is keeping me out of trouble!! lol.  First is Snicker Doodles.  I am taking her to Petsmart for socialization with dogs and people.  She doesn't bark at dogs but she is uncomfortable around them.  I want her to realize that she is okay.  I won't let them hurt her and she may even have fun playing with them.  Also, she is being cuddled and petted by strangers.  She doesn't like it much but I want to see if she will learn to like it, or if she can at least be less uncomfortable.  If she learns to like it we may pursue therapy dog work with her.  The problem is that she will do what I ask even if she doesn't want to.  I want her to have fun too!!

Pepsi and I went to the conformation class at the fairgrounds.  The Orlando Dog Training Club conducts all kinds of classes for you and your pet.  They are very professional and knowledgeable.  Pepsi got a lot of practice in the ring and I got some pointers.  What he really needs is to be around all the other dogs and to do what is expected of him.  He gets distracted by them and wants to play!!  He did very well, and like any good mummy I gave him lots of play time.  I am very happy with is progress.  I still can't believe how quickly he picks up skills.  He is one of a kind.

This afternoon we are going to check out an assisted living facility to see if Pepsi can make some new friends.  Now that he has is vest and ID it is about time I get out of the house!!  My girls went on a little vacation so I have the time to set up interviews and not have them with me.  Children are not allowed on therapy dog visits so that the team can concentrate on their visitations and not be distracted.  It is a good policy but it is a shame that my girls can't come and visit with folks too.  I think it would be good for them and may have to set something up for them.

Hope's first time in the garden.

Today we went out in the garden for 5 mins to give Hope the taste of the outdoors.  Funny thing is that she is so small it is hard to see her in the tall grass!!!  Ok, the grass really isn't that tall but I had to come up with some excuse why she is  so tiny!!

Hope really likes to play with the other dogs.  She gets on famously with Tiny Tito who is just over 2lbs but looks like a giant next to her.  Chica isn't being as protective of her and lets the other dogs play.  I watch carefully and supervise so they aren't too ruff on her!!  (sorry had to say ruff and not rough !!).

can you see me?

Shots, playing, visits

Huey came to visit us for a week while his human Mum was on holiday.  He had lots of fun here.  The first day Pepsi was all over him, but Pepsi settled down by day 2.  Pepsi and Huey always played a lot when Huey was living here.

Snickie has really taken to Hope who now gets to play with everyone a few times a day.  Because she is an only pup I fear she may be lonely.  Of course, she is a dog and probably doesn't have that kind of emotion.  She does like to play with everyone.  I watch to make sure they aren't too rambunctious with her.

Hope is 6 weeks tomorrow and is now enjoying wet puppy food.  She does share some with Chica her mum.  She still sleeps a lot.  Mattie and Katie love to cuddle her!!

Snickie and Tito went to the vet today for their shots.  Snickie had to have her yearly shots that included her rabies.  Tito received his rabies.  Now they are sleeping in the kennels.  For some reason getting shots makes them sleepy!!

Professional Photo time

Yesterday we went to Kelly's house for a photo session since Huey (Tito's brother) is visiting us for the week.  We also got to meet Kelly's new little man who is adorable!!   All the kiddos played in the pool while Kelly and I played with the pups!

Pepsi went swimming in the pool but we he did make some time for a photo or two!

Here is Huey, he looks just like his Dad, Nacho.
Not sure who Tito looks like?  He is loosing his puppy coat and looking a bit ugly at the moment.
