This last week has been really rough on me emotionally. My Mother is very ill and I'm just not sure she will be strong enough to pull out of this one. But I did manage to take a couple of videos that I posted on youtube under pocketsocks1 and here are some pix. Hope you like them.
Bandito is around 6 ounces and Milky Way is around 9 ounces at ten days old.

The List...... the soap opera of Pepsi Cola
Well, whoever said owning a dog was easy has no clue of the hard work involved. You want a well behaved dog you need to work for it.
We are done with #1. no submissive peeing in ages. I can finally say with confidence it ain't coming back.
#2 howling in the wee hours of the am.... some days are better then others and the howling starts at 6am. Other days are worse. So we are still working on this one.
#3 Walking on a leash. You won't believe all the hard work I have put into this one. But two days straight he has done it. wow. Still working on it but we are progressing nicely. He does stop and look at me. Then I wait for a moment and call him. He then continues. I really hope this is a start to continued success.
#4 potty outside- he still goes on the paper at night. though somedays I get lucky and their are no morning presents for me to clean up. I actually saw him go yesterday and nearly passed out. That was the first time he went in front of me and it has been 2 months??
#5 eating poop and drinking peeps. I just try and keep everything picked up so he doesn't find any. He finds it in the back yard though. Being small I don't find every single one...
#6 running out the door and disappearing. Last week he did this twice and I was caught running around the neighbourhood trying to catch him. lovely.
As I write this he is on my lap being all cute and cuddly. He looks at me with those big eyes as if to say "I don't do these horrible things....how could you tell folks these lies?" He is a good dog in so many other ways and the good thing is, even though it takes time he is learning.

Da Boys are 6 days old!!
They are nearly a week old. Looks at those markings. I am thinking Milky Way may be a smooth coat and Bandito a long coat. Just have to wait and see. Also, their faces are darker and I wonder how they will turn out. Will they have a mask? I see tan on their cheeks which is very nice. Milky Way is two whole ounces bigger then Bandito. But they are growing slowly. I doubt the puppy chart will be accurate predicting their final size.. and this won't be the first time....

Raw meat indoors!!
It has been raining all morning and is nasty wet outside. It was time to feed the dogs some raw meat. Yes, I am still doing this. I actually give it to them twice a week for a supplement. And they love it.
so I quarantined them into the back room and gave them a piece each. Not too messy since I shut the cages and pulled beds up. When they were done I mopped.
Last night I gave Snickie some and I'm not sure how that turned out. Her poor little tummy is queasy. This morning she hasn't eaten. Nor accepted the milk. I'm not too happy about that. Pups are doing well.

Pepsi, stud for hire, is busy finding ladies to woe!!!
Pepsi went on a sleepover at Bella's house. Here she is on the right. Funny thing is that she looks a lot like Pepsi. As you can see she also has a very nice stop!!
Pepsi went to meet her as he would like to woe her later this spring. I think they will make beautiful babies.
He was so excited to meet her that he paid her lots of attention... maybe too much. He followed her around like a devoted husband and she was slightly annoyed by all his attention.
Here they are together.. a moment actually sitting still. Don't they make a gorgeous couple?

Happy Birthday
They are adorable. Two little boys. They are both around 4 ounces.
Where do I begin. Water broke around 11.11pm. I was so excited. Three hours later Snickie looked as if she had two sacks coming out. And nothing much had happened.
I suspected she may be too small to pass them. So I took her into the ER. This ended up in a c-section and her being spayed.
These are my pets first, then my breeders. Snickie's health and her welfare goes before my breeding her. Also, she belongs to my daughter. So she is now fixed.
She is on meds and the sutures come out in 10 days. Her nipples are inverted so it looks like I still may not get any sleep. Most likely I will have to supplement.
I hope I am not rambling and make a little sense. I am so tired from staying up the whole night and the worrying.....
I just have to concerntrate my efforts on getting Snickie better, and keeping those pups healthy.

Any Day Now
Snickie likes to live in the cage and that is that. She won't come out unless absolutely necessary.
This morning she refused to eat. A good sign. Her temperature is up a little. another good sign. ( I say this because it has to go up before it goes down.) I'm not being very patient. Not so good.
The puppies are moving about a lot. Really cool feeling them and seeing the weird bumps on her tummy.

Bath Time Fun
Being British I like to take baths. Sometimes, my girls like to take baths too. Funny thing is that the doggies will act like they want to get in on the action as well. They run into the bathroom and check us out. But when I give them baths they act liking I'm torturing them.... what gives??
Here is a pic of my daughter getting kisses in the tub. She wanted to pull them in with her.

Snickie's visit to the vet.
Today was the day we went to the vet to hear the good news and answer the question.... how many pups will Snickie have??? Two seems to be the answer and I am very pleased with that. They look a nice size as well. I have been worried they could be too small and not survive. I took a photo of the xray.
Can you see the cute little things????? I am so excited.

The list
So we have been working on "THE LIST" with Pepsi and this is where we stand....
1. Submissive peeing.... he doesn't do it anymore... though somedays when I go towards him he does put his tail between his legs and act like he may....
2. Howling in the wee hours of the morning.... Still does that. I think he will grow out of it in time... when I yell schuss he stops. This morning it was at 5 am but then he settled down again.
3. Walking on a leash!! Some days he bolts out of the house and walks a little ways. We were making a lot of progress until my husband decided that dragging him would work very well. The next day we were back to day one again. These days I sit on the ground and call him, he comes, then I stand up and walk a bit, and do it again. Takes a long time to walk a dog this way!!
4. Potty-ing outside... Well he is still doing it on the newspaper but it is working for now. Leaving the crates open at night is working. He can go to the paper if he needs. Which he does. I think he saves it up all day and then goes at night???
We have some new ones.
Bolting outside and running for dear life-

Vet visits, departures and such
Pepsi has new digs on the computer desk... Oh yes, since he is up there all the time I have put one of the dog beds up there just for him. This way he can keep any eye on me and be in the lap of luxury all at the same time. He is going to the vet this morning for his teeth cleaning and baby teeth to be removed. He hasn't eaten since last night and is a little peckish.
Snickie is getting larger. Soon we will have her xrayed. I will make the apt. today when taking Pepsi in.All she wants to do is lay about. When she does walk it is a very cute waddle. I can't wait to find out how many she is carrying. I am really hoping for only two. That way I think they will be healthy and big enough.
Daisy went home yesterday. Poor Nacho just didn't get the job done. She is now visiting Frostee at www.floridachi.com Frostee is a beautiful silvery blue. What a lovely dog. And I'm sure he will take care of things.... he is quite a Romeo.
He is pictured here with Chica...
Update: they tied once around January 15th, 2010.

Play date at my house
The other day I had a phone call about using Pepsi as a stud. Well today the interested party... Miss Fiona, came to check him out.
She is a beautiful chocolate Merle. She thinks Pepsi is quite stunning and may use his services after all. I think he may have to learn how to woe her though and not pay so much interest in her baby sister Sophie. Sophie is a little too young at the moment and this sort of behaviour will not win over Miss Fiona's heart.

Do I look pregnant NOW????
This is Snickie with 3 weeks to go. I think she is starting to show. Finally. For a long time she was looking very slim.
She is eating all the time. I just went to petsmart to buy some special organic sausage for her. They love it. And anything to help her get all those vitamins and extra calories she needs.
She is also getting raw chicken necks to supplement her diet. I am hoping that she will have enough calories, vitamins etc to keep her and her pups healthy.

Update on the lovebirds...
The lovebirds have gone to Jessie's house for the weekend. We figure a change in scenery may help them. Nacho will be in his element in his own home.
I am happy not having to wipe up after him... he likes to mark everything. So I get a break for a couple of days. This also means Pepsi is home again. And we knew it at 6.30am when he started howling for me.....

It is STILL cold out there.
Ok, it is seriously cold out there and the chis are very upset. Chica and Snickie have taken to burrowing in one of the crates under the covers. They stay there most of the day.
Last night as I was laying on the sofa watching the tely Chica took her burrowing to all new levels. She crawled up my shirt!!!!!! You can see her head poking out of the top.
And Chica is wearing a sweater 24-7 ta boot. I thought that would help her stay warm but obviously it is not enough.
Snickie tried to go potty in the house this morning but I caught her and put her out. The only one sort of ok with all this cold weather is Pepsi. He seems to be ok with that very thick coat of his.
He just wants to be on my lap.

Doggie Dating
Pepsi went to visit Jessie for a few days, Nacho and Daisy came to see us. Why you may ask?? Well, Daisy is in heat and is going to mate with Nacho if all goes well.
Nothing yet, but they are dancing and playing around. Nacho follows Daisy around and has tried several times. Daisy gets a little scared. But all will work itself out and before you know it Daisy will be pregnant.

It is cold out there.
It is cold out there so the doggies are on strike. There is no need to go potty outside in the cold when there is plenty of lovely carpet to go on inside.
So they are sneaking around inside trying to find a nice spot and i'm trying to catch them in the act and send them outside.
They are all curling inside one crate to keep warm. Chica is the short hair and is accepting a sweater to help her keep warm. The other two have longer hair.
When outside the one side of the house has a nice sunny spot sheltered from the wind. That is where you will find them huddled. And that is only when forced outside against there will.

Chihuahuas and raw meat.
So I went with Ana to the meat market and it is true!!!!! lol. You can really get lots of meat cheap. So I gave in and got some. I figure it won't hurt to supplement their diet with some raw meat. Talk about content doggies. They are all outside noshing away making little weird noises. I can't explain but it is caught on the video I posted on youtube.
They even left the cats alone when they went oustside. Normally, Chica has to go and lick their faces as she wags her tail. The cats hate this.... Snickie and Pepsi have to join in... but not today.
Today Coco is basking in the sun by herself.

Pepsi Cola and Snicker Doodles..
Pepsi, Chica went out walking with us. Chica was sporting a lovely sweater to keep her warm. And the big news..... drum roll please... Pepsi walked a long ways. We are so pleased. All my hard work with him is paying off.
We also got him a harness which may have helped the situation. It looks very cute and is nice and sturdy. Not that you can tell it is cute cause you can't see it.
I am also looking into training for him. We have to see but it may just happen. I have been looking into classes.
Snickie is getting fatter now. Only 20 days left. She now looks like a normal dog with normal weight. Unlike her normal skinny self.
She had a short walk today to Jessie's house and back. Don't want to tax her too much but do want to keep her healthy. She enjoyed playing with her puppy friends!! Nacho was quite interested in her today.
She is still getting extra treats, vitamins and puppy food. January 20th or so we will get an xray to see how many pups.
