Tiny 3 week old chihuahua meets Snickie for the first time
I didn't realize I could post videos!! This is awesome. Here is Snickie and Hope playing together just the other day.
Pepsi's new vest
Pepsi's therapy vest finally arrived. I am so excited!! It is very small and very cute. I did sew on the CGC patch. It also has nice embroidery in the middle of it "Therapy Dog". So now we are set. We have ID's, vest, patches etc.
The vest fits but I had to adjust the straps and cut some off so they did not drag. We will start therapy work when my children are back in school.

Our first Show!!
This weekend was the Brevard Kennel Club Show here in Orlando. It was Pepsi's and my first time out. First day I was nervous, and so was he. He howled a few times. Everyone turned and looked. But as time progressed he relaxed. We did pretty well the first day. I do see lots of room for improvement though. We one first place for our class, 12-18 months.
We met some really nice breeders. One lady in particular has shown for 50 years. She is very sweet and is a wealth of information. Her name is Myrle Hale. She gave me lots of tips and it was a pleasure meeting her!!
Saturday we were in the ring again. This time we did better!! Pepsi was very relaxed the whole time. We won first in our class again!! I had more fun and wasn't as nervous. Mattie came today and is interested in Junior Showmanship. May let her give it a whiz. I did a little shopping - comb and a show lead.

Thank you to all my friends who came to support me on our first weekend of showing!!! Jo McGinnis, Kelly Richardson, Jessica Benzel, and Robin Snow (Pepsi's breeder).
Thanks Kelly for the photos you took of us!!
Thanks also to Sandy from Serenity chihuahuas for support and help.

cool grooming bag from Petsmart
I went to Petsmart today to get puppy Bil Jac and a Pet Botanics meal in a roll. But I came home with something extra.... yes, Martha Stewart has infiltrated the pet industry. I purchased a nifty grooming bag for $19.99 + tax. Very cool.
I have put all the necessary items in for the show...
shout wipes (for me when I spill food down my front)
scissors
toe nail clippers
comb
wet wipes
poop bags
dog treats
entry forms
camera
water bottles (water for Pepsi) and bowl
Hair rolly thing that takes pet hair of your clothes....
I think Pepsi can smell all the treats......

Getting ready to show!!
Pepsi and I are working hard for our first show. We are crossing all our "T"s and dotting our "I"s. His stacking is coming along. When I look at his photos I can see where he needs some more work. But we will do our best. Hoping to have fun, buy some cool stuff, gain experience and make connections. If lightening strikes we may win something!!!!

A very sad morning
Last night was when I realized something was very wrong.
Two nights ago my daughter told me that one of the pups had fallen out of the box onto the tile fall. We had heard some crying and she was the first to investigate. She put the pup back in with Chica and then we all went to bed thinking nothing of it.
That night she woke me up two times crying. I put her on a nipple and then returned to bed. One time I let Chica out to go to the bathroom as well. Everything seemed fine. The next day we were in and out, but every time I looked in on them they seemed okay.
Then last night both I was out watering in the garden, when I came in both my girls were visibly upset. They told me how she was crying and crying. I went in and started working. Last night I phoned two breeders to see what we could figure out. What could be wrong? Ana helped me figure out the rest of the puzzle this morning.
I had cut a hole in the side of the box for Chica to get in and out. She is a jumper. She must have jumped out with the Mouse attached and then Mouse must have let go and hit her head on the tile.
I got up every two hours to check on her and give her dyne (like nutra cal but better). Mattie found her at 7 am. She came out crying.
So she is in a plastic bag in the freezer waiting burial in our garden. I have made the hole in the box so big Chica can now walk out of it. And my girls have gone to Vacation Bible school for the morning. later we will have a nice service for her and bury her in our flower garden near Little Blue. (died from a previous litter).
These are some of my favourite pix of her. She had opened her eyes earlier on June 13th, the day the accident happened. Her brown coat was getting lighter to be a red. We will really miss her.

Pepsi is a courting!! Again.
Fiona is here for a visit with Pepsi being that she is now in heat. She is a very sweet dog, and cute as can be. So I am hoping those qualities will be passed on to the pups. Pepsi and Fiona are having fun chasing each other around the house and enjoying their courtship. If all progress well, Pepsi will be a dad again in the middle of August. I am so excited to see what these two will produce.

More baby pix
They are nine days old and looking adorable. Nice looking heads so far. Any they are so tiny and cute. #2 is a wiggle worm, and #1 seems laid back. Just have to watch as they develop.
This is #1. She looks like she has a black mask, a light brown w/ black brindling, tan and white markings. So far interesting colours. But she will change so much over the next few weeks. I wonder if she will lighten to a red.
This is #2. She looks like she will have white paws, tummy and snout. She has tan markings, and looks more chocolatey. A Chica minny me!! So far this one is my favourite in looks.

AKC Canine Good Citizenship certificate
Finally it came in the mail today. I already have the sew on badge for his vest. AND now I have the fancy schmancy certificate with the gold seal!!! Pepsi's part of the 3 ring binder is becoming quite full with his registrations, certificates etc. I hope his head doesn't get too big!!!
I may have to dedicate a wall in our house to him!!! Today I ordered some ID badges, one for him and one for me. I also ordered his official Therapy Dog vest last week. I will have to post a pic of him in all his attire!!
I have decided to wait until the school year starts before do visitations with Pepsi. Girls will be home and there will be lots to do. Besides, children may not accompany us on the visits!

Chica's new pups!!!
Well, I never imagined what it would be like to have pups this small. They are the tiniest !! Chica is keeping me up at night. She needs food, water, goats milk, potty breaks. So I am exhausted and I've only done two nights of this.
She is such a good mum but like all new mum's she won't take care of herself. That is where I come in. I have to make sure she is taken care of so no one suffers, her or her pups.
They are healthy and have put on a little weight. I did try and take some pics but at this stage it is hard to get a good photo. You can see their colouring though.
These first 3 pix are of puppy one. First born and a little bigger then the other.
These two pix are puppy two. Very small compared to her sister. Both are charting (at this time) to be between 2- 2 1/2 lbs as adults. It is way too early to tell, but Chica does have a habit of producing tiny chis!!

Chica's puppies are here!!!!
Last night around 7pm the puppies were born!! Two little girls. They look as if they are going to be brown with black brindling. One has white markings on her chest and paws. Chica took under 10 mins to get them out!! An old time record.
First one was 2 1/2 ounces and the second was 3 1/8 ounces. WOW. Normally they are around 4 ounces at birth!!! They are healthy and so darn cute.
Pepsi is the proud father and is dying to see them... he'll have to wait. He likes to get a little too excited around pups!!
The pups were a little wet when I took the one photo so they look very dark. Will get better pix when they are older.
