Pepe Le Pew

So the time is getting nearer for Pepe's departure.  If all goes well, Samantha will be heading this way today.  Which means she will come over tomorrow to see Pepe for the first time.  If it doesn't go through as planned it should all happen early next week.

I am excited to meet her because we have been chatting on the phone so much.  She is a really nice lady and will spoil him rotten... am I repeating myself?? lol.  Samantha asked me if I have had second thoughts.   First I said no, then I said yup.  Even last night I was wondering If I have made the right decision.  BUT I gave her my word that he was hers.  AND I'm not going to turn around and say I'm keeping him just because I may have the jitters.  That would not be right.

So it is raining and raining.  I want to give him a bath so he smells all sweet when she gets here.  But he will just get all wet and dirty again.  oh well.  The best laid plans .....

Pepe Le Pew

I have found a home for Pepe.  He is going to live with Samantha in Kentucky.  She sounds very nice and has promised to spoil  him rotten.  He is very used to that.  She is going to drive down to Florida to pick him up.  I am looking forward to meeting her in person.

It is bittersweet for me.  I have become very attached to Pepe but think this is the best for him and for us. I will miss they way he crosses his front paws and sticks out his tongue when he is relaxing.  But I think he will be very happy in his new home.

Pepe is waiting patiently for Snickie to come out from under the recliner. Snickie took a bone with her and Pepe wants it.

Belly bands and panties

Poor Snickie is wearing the belly band so she won't bleed on our furniture and clothing. Now poor Pepe is wearing a belly band so he won't try and mate with Chica.

What next??

Crazy Chica....

Last night Chica and Pepe tied. Yes, you heard me correctly. I was confused and worried. They tied again this morning. I have decided to keep them separated to insure the safety of the pups.

There are several ideas for why this is happening that are floating around in my head...

1. Chica is hormonally imbalanced.
2. Snickie, who is now in heat has set Chica off. Chica seems to have a rivalary with Snickie and may want to exert dominance over her.
3. Due to Snickie's heat, poor Pepe is confused and Chica just let him.
4. Chica wants pups early and figures this may help!! lol

So I just have to wait and see what happens. But for now, Snickie and Pepe are together. Chica is with me.

Decision.

Here at the tiny chi we came to a decision. As much as I wanted Bugsz it would not have worked. Not sure how he would fit into a home life. Being cuddled and being inside a house with cats, kids etc. Not sure if Pepe would have enjoyed the life being around dogs more and not around family.

So we decided to keep Pepe for a while longer. Took him off puppyfind and may breed him. Selling his pups as pets.

to trade or not to trade, that is the question

I have found someone who is willing to trade for Pepe. Now the question is... do I do it? Very nice dog etc. Owner seems really nice as well.

There will be shipping of doggies, and other areas of concern to consider. It is not what I do know, it is all the unforeseen problems that could crop up for either party involved.

What would make me feel better about the transaction??? If I could see where Pepe would live and what his life would be like. If I could meet Bugsz.

That would really help with this decision.

petsmart

I went to Petsmart to get dog food and some special food for Chica. It is a sausage roll that is a complete meal. She loves it!!

So I saw this snuggys ( nerdy blankets you put your arms through) but they are for dogs and I had to have one. I bought it home and tried it on a dog. Yes it fit. As I took it off to see if it would fit someone else I noticed a hole... darn it. I just got the thing... I also noticed the material wasn't that good.

So I made my own. Only made one so far but my sewing is way superior over the store brand and I have better polartec too!!! I know mine will last a lot longer and I can make sure it fits to each dog!

Pepe Le Pew is for sale

Yes, I have gone back and forth on this one for a long time. Not sure if I really want to give him up or not. But the right person will come a long and I think it will be ok. He has the sweetest personality and is very laid back. He licks big dogs when we go out walking, and sits on my lap when I am on the computer. A real love bug.

Are you the right family for him??? If you think so write me a note and tell me about you. He is to be a pet in a home, and will come with a neuter contract.

Puppy visit

Daisy (from chihuahuacrazy.com) came to visit today. She may stay a couple of days with her sister Snickie. We have to see if they behave themselves. Anyways, Snickie and Daisy are ganging up on Pepe!!! It is so funny to watch. And he is lovin it!!!

Pepe the carrot eater.

Today as I was cooking I cut three pieces of carrot. One for each dog. Pepe ate them all. He is quite the carrot pig!!! He did share a bit of carrot with Chica later....

Play date at Kelly's house

Pepe is such a happy go lucky sort of dog. I took him over to Kelly's house and he got to play with a whole ton of cute pups. They are all looking for homes... Pepe wanted to take Luigi home with him. Those two had so much fun together

Halloween

It is getting near to the time where we need to seriously think about what to dress the dogs up for Halloween. Pepe is all squared away..... he is going to be a bat. With his big head, big eyes, short snout and black wings: he is going to look just like the real thing.

Snickie could be an angel... We have white wings with silver sparkles. She could be very cute. Or maybe a little witch....

If I could train Snickie and Pepe to sit on opposite shoulders, I could pretend one is my good angel and one is my bad little devil!!!

As I said, very hard decisions to be made....

Pepe Le Pew goes to the vet

Yesterday was vet day for Pepe. He had to get his rabies vaccination. Luckily for him he is a dog and had no clue what would befall him. I decided to wait until he was 5 months so he was a little sturdier. Some more meat on those bones! The shot went very well. He took it like a man.

Pepe and Boy

It has been a busy week here in Florida. I have been helping friends with their chihuahuas and I think we are all pooped. Lots of new babies to be seen, and pups to play with. www. Floridachi.com has pups and so does www.chihuahuacrazy.com.

Karen brought her new stud "Boy" over and we had a little play date. Pepe and Boy really like each other. I was calling them porker and shrimp, mine being the porker. There is a month difference in their age, and they are different body types. But both are adorable.

So I hope Boy will come and play again. The socialization is good for both of them. And they really liked each other. They ran around the front garden having a great time.

Tomorrow Pepe goes to school for orientation. Hopefully, he'll get lots of cuddles!! I can't wait to see the reaction to him at the school.

tongues!!

I had a cat named Moose who would stick out her tongue just a little bit. Oh it was so cute. One day I showed my husband saying "ooh isn't this the cutest thing you ever did see". I touched it with my finger. What a mistake. She never stuck it out again.

Well, now we are present day. Pepe is sticking out his tongue.... just a little bit. AND oh it is sooooooooo cute. I have told my girls that under no circumstances may they touch that tongue.... that if they do, and he never sticks it out again THE WRATH OF THEIR MOTHER WILL BE UPON THEM.

Pepe has the cutest habit which seems to work for everyone. He goes to the feed bowl and takes one piece of dog food. He returns to a bed and eats it. Chica sits with him quietly. (very odd that she doesn't try and steal the food). When he is done he goes for another piece. AND Chica eats the leftovers. What a cute dog.

The Secret Spot!

Snicker Doodles likes to hide under the recliner. As she has gotten a little bigger, from when she was a pup, it is a little harder to get under there... but she does. I find bones, toys and other treasures that she keeps safe. It is her spot. Everyone knows about it....

Chica would love to get under there but she can't. Pepe can get under but when Snickie is there he has a problem. And he only wants in there when she is.

Playing Tug of War

Snickie has the cutest habit. She will get a toy and start to play tug of war with Pepe. When Pepe drops the item Snickie will pick it back up and wait for him to grab it again before she continues tugging.

Pepe will take turns playing with Chica and Snickie. Sometimes Snickie and Chica play with Pepe on looking.

Pepe wrapped himself up with the favourite of all toys..... a ball thingy that I attached to some fabric. They love wrestling with it. Somedays I drag all three of them over the tile.

Sleepy heads

As I am scurrying around cleaning the house the doggies are enjoying their beds. It really is a dog's life around here.

For those of you who want multiple dogs... it is a lot of work. Cleaning up accidents, giving them fresh water and food during the day, exercising them, moping their room, poop pick up in the yard..... the jobs are never ending. On the up side you have little ones who adore you and want nothing more then cuddling on your lap

Pepe is doing really well on his leash. We have been walking around the block and every one is nice and tired at the end of it. This also helps relieve boredom which is always a good thing!!
